Measurement properties of wheelchair propulsion tests: minimal clinical important difference and smallest detectable difference

Research will take place in ICORD labs at the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre, for 2 testing session lasting a maximum of 3.5 hours each.

Researchers will measure how much energy and force it takes you to wheel at a comfortable speed on a treadmill. While you are wheeling, they will take measurements including information about the air you are breathing and how you feel while wheeling.

You may be eligible to participate if:

  • You use a manual wheelchair with 24” or 25” quick release wheels for at least 50% of your mobility
  • You have a spinal cord injury
  • You are 19-65 years of age
