Aziz Ghahary and Ryan Hartwell test promising anti-scarring drug

ghahary-hartwellICORD PI Dr. Aziz Ghahary and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Ryan Hartwell have developed a drug that they hope will prevent scarring and autoimmune disease. The drug, called Fibrostop, is currently in clinical trials. Read about the invention here, or watch a Global News story here.

In addition to his work on burns, Dr. Ghahary and his lab study non-healing wounds such as pressure ulcers, which are a common secondary complication of spinal cord injury.
