The SCI Action Canada Lab, under the guidance of Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginis, invites adults with spinal cord injury (SCI) whose primary mode of mobility is walking, to participate in a series of tests related to: balance, sit to stand and a hand grip strength test. Prior to participating in the physical activity portion of the study, the research participants will complete questionnaires relating to: Sociodemographic, Falls Efficacy Scale, Exercise Self-efficacy Questionnaire, and the Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire for People with Disabilities (LTPAQ – D).
Participation in this study will help the SCI Action Canada Lab to advance research on the association between: physical abilities, fear of falling, and the confidence to exercise, which will inform the future design of more effective programs to prevent falls in people with neurological disabilities.
