This purpose of this study is to get feedback on an accessible “toolkit” that will allow a commercially available rowing ergometer to be quickly and easily adapted so that it can be used independently by people with SCI or spinal disease.
If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will be asked to take part in a moderated focus group and have opportunity to contribute your input on accessible rowing ergometers- e.g., existing solutions, needs, challenges, and design considerations.
The session will be approximately 2 hours long.
Why should you participate in this study?
You will provide valuable input that will contribute to the development of new adaptations that will improve the accessibility of commercially available rowing ergometers.
You may be eligible to participate if you are
• an independent manual wheelchair user with a spinal cord injury or spinal disease
• 16 years of age or older
• able to effectively communicate in English
Compensation for participation
Participants will receive a $75 honorarium for participation in this study.
The study will the study take place at ICORD, GF Strong, or the Burnaby BCIT campus
