Project title: The Biomechanics, Safety and Confidence of Using a SmartDrive for Wheelchair Propulsion (Part A)

The purpose of the study is to determine the pushrim force required to start and stop the SmartDrive at different speeds as well as how long it takes to stop the wheelchair equipped with SmartDrive compared to without.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Do not have any upper/lower extremity physical or neurological problems
  • Are able to understand English to fill out the forms

What is involved?

The study will take place at Blusson Pavilion in the ICORD Research Centre, 818 West 10th Ave., Vancouver, BC. The required time for participation of one visit is a maximum of 1.5 hour. Please see the attached information form for further details about our study procedures.
