ICORD researchers take leading roles in Year of Science: Science and Health Expo

ICORD researchers are playing key roles in the Province’s first signature event Year of Science, Health and Science Expo, held November 25th and 26th at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver. The expo is designed to promote careers in health science. It is designed primarily for high school students, but open to all ages to attend for free.

Dr. Jaimie Borisoff will lead an activity showcasing new wheelchair technology in sport and daily use. Dr. Borisoff is a doctor of neuroscience and a gold and silver medal winning Olympian who invented the Elevation Wheelchair.
November 25, 12:00 to 1:00.

Dr. Paul Zehr will discuss the science behind the superhero and explore the possibility of  “becoming Batman”.
November 26, 10:30 to 11:30.

As the first Signature Event of the Year of Science, the Science and Health expo will showcase top BC-led health research, technologies, education, and careers. The event will feature key note speakers on topics ranging from genetics to the science behind superheroes, hands-on and interactive displays and activities, and a range of exhibits on healthy living, new technologies and education opportunities.
