National survey to explore opinions about a new experimental treatment under development for spinal cord injury that involves biomaterials

Researcher(s): Dr. Wolfram Tetzlaff

Mend the Gap is a group of 30 international scientists working closely with people with lived experience (PLEX) of SCI toward a new experimental treatment for SCI. The treatment involves a combination of drugs and an injectable biomaterial. The treatment is intended to help nerves regrow in the spinal cord and improve functional outcome. In this online survey, we are interested in your opinions and perspectives about this new approach, considering both the benefits and risks they present.

Why should you participate?

We would like to hear about your expectations and hopes for the novel intervention so that development continues and dissemination steps are undertaken in ways that are best aligned with the priorities of the spinal cord injury community.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are a person living with spinal cord injury or their caregiver.

You may not be eligible to participate in this study if:

  • You are in acute care.

This study will take place: Remotely (online survey/phone/video call).

Time commitment: The estimated time to take this survey is about 20 minutes.

Compensation for participation: Participants have the option to provide their email address to receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
