Power PARC: More Than a Machine

Some PARC members come to the gym specifically to use the NuStep.
It is one of the facility’s busiest machines. People with different mobility needs can use it for upper-body, lower-body or full-body exercise. Growing demand can mean waiting for a turn.
More people are moving at PARC than ever before. Now the equipment needs to keep up.
We are raising $15,000 to purchase another NuStep Recumbent Cross Trainer. The machine costs approximately $13,000 plus taxes and provides accessible cardiovascular and strength training.
One more NuStep means more time moving and less time waiting.
Funds raised beyond the cost of the equipment will provide UBC Kinesiology students with high-quality opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom, develop their professional practice and gain practical employment experience.
All donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

Fundraising Challenge
During the fundraising campaign we will be challenging our community members to complete one or several challenges:
- Complete a number of cardio exercises at PARC using the NuStep, Monark, SCIFit, aROW and/or aSKI
- Complete a number of trips up the 200m ramp at the BSCCC
- Participate in the PARC timed ramp challenge
- Complete a number of minutes of exercise (anywhere, anytime)
- Participate in the PARC Table tennis doubles competition
Table Tennis Tournament – everyone welcome!
- Practice at free drop in sessions: Sept 18, 10am-12pm; Sept 25, 10am-12pm; Oct 5, 4-6pm at PARC
- Compete in the tournament: October 9, 1-4pm in the BSCC Lecture Hall
- $20 to participate per team (early bird), $30 on the day of event. Donate and register!
