ICORD researcher Dr. Andrei Krassioukov released a video in collaboration with Spinal Cord Injury BC that shines a spotlight on the importance of inclusive fashion. The short documentary features members of the SCI community sharing their personal stories, challenges, and creative adaptations when it comes to clothing that is both functional and fashionable.
The video is part of FashionABLE, a research and advocacy initiative led by Dr. Krassioukov’s lab that explores how adaptive fashion can be both functional and stylish. Funded by the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and WorkSafeBC, the FashionABLE project brings together people with lived experience, healthcare professionals, and fashion designers to rethink how clothing is designed, modified, and accessed by individuals with SCI.
