Drs. Stacy Elliott, Andrei Krassioukov, Brian Kwon, Wolfram Tetzlaff and Marcel Dvorak have received King Charles III Coronation Medals as Spinal Cord Injury Research Trailblazers. This honour recognizes Canadians who have made a lasting impact in communities, territories, regions, and provinces across the country. The medal was created to mark the coronation of King Charles III in 2023 and is the first Canadian honour to feature the Canadian Royal Crown, approved by His Majesty. It is administered by the Chancellery of Honours in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mint. Nominated by the Rick Hansen Foundation, Stewart and Marilyn Blusson, Michael Fehlings, Michael Harcourt, George and Sylvia Melville, and Charles Tator were also honoured in this category.
