In these modern times, what is the value of drawing the distinction between able-bodied and disabled athletes? Do the disability categories of the Paralympics level the playing field for participants and allow them to showcase their abilities or does it discriminate against them by conveying the message that they cannot participate in the ‘real’ Olympics?
